Serenity's eyes widened further. "You really don't know, do you? Well, here goes.. A long long time ago, the humans stole some magic from the magicians. The eight, the first eight, that took it used it to turn themselves into animals. There were the the Blue Jay, Cat, Dog, Great White Shark, Raccoon, Tarantula, Boa Constrictor, and the Vampire Bat. Afterwords, these eight were called shape shifters. And combined with this shape shifting each also had their own special abilility. The magic gene has been diluted with the ages, but your mother was Mercy, the bird. It is your special ability to see the future. Mine is elements, Val's is mind reading, Celeste is purity et cetera."

Serenity smiled saddly,, "Well, Your mother had a twin. Marie Roan. She was the Vampire Bat. The Roans were angry because she died, and they blamed it on the shifters. While normal shifters are kinda common, a child of the first eight is rare, only happening once a century. Well, with exception of the Roans, because the Vampire Bat gene was the strongest, so almost every generation is born with the gene. But you and Val are special. Rare. You were placed on this earth at the specific time for a reason." She said.

Falen looked down, so much to process. "Mercy.....had a twin? Marie?". She drew silent as she said the last name Roan. She was in compelte silence. She wenty pale as a ghost, even paler than she normally was.She said "Roan...?". Then she said "Why would the shifters do that? Why would Mercy do that? To her own sister?".

Serenity chuckled. "Well, every shifter knows it. Oh, I forgot to mention. I also knew you could tell the future. It's in your scent, kinda like how I knew you were gonna be a bird before you had shifted, although the scent is stronger now that you have." She explained.
