Serenity sighed, wrapping her tail around Falen. "Issokay Muchacha de Ave, I understand. It will be alright." Noticing Noah's strange look, she explained. "I'm a shifter, my animal is a black panther. I've been shifting since I was thirteen. You smell.. odd. Half shifter half magic...... Demon?" She guessed.

Right, that totally makes sense, a shifter. Noah thought sarcastically. But he let it go. Her words made no sense at all. Yup, definently crazy.
"Don't apologize Falen, you did nothing. Cryng can be good, those emotions need to come out some how or it will just eat away at you..." He said this with earnest knowing. He understood how things could be sometimes... If she had to cry right here and now, it was better than just holding everything back for it to flood over later.

Falen smiled when Noah said this. She said "But still I must be gettign in your way.'. Then she forced herself to say a word she hated "A burden.".

The mood in the room was turning stiff and kind of depressing. Npah resolved to lighten the conversation some. "Hey, if you keep putting yourself down like that, I will personally," and here he paused to point at a random tree, "punch that tree where it really hurts." He knew it was very lame and stupid, but being a class clown wasn't exactly his strong point. Either way though, Noah felt slightly embarressed at the poor attempt.

Falen cried for a few more moments before hearing Noah. It forced a giggle out of her. It was funny. But as soon as she finished laughing she ran in front of the fireplace and sat there. Taking deep breathes the entire time.

Well, at least it worked... Sorta... Noah thought. Falen was now sulking near the fireplace. Again, Noah was at a loss of what to do. He looked to Serenity for help pleading, 'What now?'. She was the girl here, shouldn't she have some insight on what to do?

Serenity's ears flattened. She put her hand behind her head, embarressed and uncomfortable. Slowly, she walked over to Falen and wrapped her arms around the young teen. "It'll be okay Bird-girl"

Noah was running out of cheery ideas. It seemed as if Falen was in a dark and deep abyss that he just couldn't reach. It was actually depressing toeven just look at her, a wilting flower in a pile of ash. But nonetheless, he had to stay strong by his friend. He walked over to the fire, his tennis shoes making a great deal of noise. Noah peered over the girls' shoulders and watched Falen tear bits off the paper, throwing them into the hungry fingers of the flames. There was a pleasant little family smiling back at him from the picture; a father, mother, and small girl. These must be her parents, he thought. And this has to be her as a little girl... They all looked so happy and loving together, you could never imagine that anything could possibly be wrong. But then Noah remembered, that first day they had met in science class, when they were discussing their shared orphaneness. He recalled her words from his mind clear as day. My parents drove away one day and didn't bother to come back. He hadn't really understood how painful it must have been at the time but now he realized how hard she had shielded herself from these thoughts and emotions. "It's them right?" Noah whispered quietly, barely audible. "The ones who abandoned you?" Anger and sorrow washed over him. How could anyone just leave their only dauhter alone in a cabin in the middle of forest, not even bothering about wild animals or other hazards? These people were sick: monsters. Suddenly, Noah thought about his own family. Who were they? Were his parents even alive? Did he have any siblings? What was his life like before the accident? Without his consent, gentle tears began to slowly tumble down upon his face. Why did life have to be so cruel? First give someone life, love, and happiness, only to pull right from under you to fall into nothingness. Shattered dreams, lives of innocents, neverending tunnels of doom. He was shaking with anger to the gods or whoever was up there right now. Pity on all those who had mistakenly crossed the devil's path. Was that the only thing people had to lok foward to in the future?

Falen sat quitely. She was sucked into a world unkown to herself and others. She was usually the one telling everyone, everything was alright, everything was good. But know this vibrant sun was a black hole of nothingness. She wasn't ok this time. She would never be fine. Not now, not ever. Her face pale as a sheet. She looked at the picture, tears weeled up in her eyes, she couldn't cry, no not anymore. the faces of her mom and dad gleemed back at her. So happy, they didn't deserve to be so happy. Her shield against these broke. She couldn't hold them back any longer. She heard Noah though she didn't move. Though she nodded slightly. She wondered about Noah about how painful it must be not to know who oyur parents were. She sighed, maybe it was for the beter. She said "we should leave the cabin weve been here to long.".
